About the Event
We are excited to share this upcoming workshop “Queen Elizabeth’s Flowers." We will be taking a look at real and symbolic importance of flowers and court life during Queen Elizabeth's reign, including looking at some of her personal favorites, and how those flowers were used in embroidery as a way to create relationships and curry favor.
This workshop is the second in the "Elizabethan Garden" series we started last summer with “Carnations and Cornflowers” where we covered the general importance of gardens on everyday life, pattern books, flowers and health and aromatics, as well as the influence of gardens on embroidery.
